Oversized Belt Buckle - Three Chili Peppers
Wooohooo this is one HOT belt buckle, and if you guessed because of the chili peppers on it you are right. This Spicy buckle is made of pewter and has a splash of enameling added to make those chilies come to life. It also has enameling around the edges with the festive scroll work. I have read that people have been eaten chilis since 7500 BC and they think maybe even earlier then that. One bite from that bad boy can leave your mouth riving in pain for at least 30 minutes, but it is still used as a spice and eaten by itself also with great care taken. It is also used as a remedy for stomach aliments and also to combat heat by making you sweat. The most intriguing method of this particular pepper though is that it is smashed up in a paste and applied to fences to help detour elephants. Hmmmmm
