Boris Vallejo was born in Lima, Peru, and attended the National School of Fine Arts in his native country. In 1964 he immigrated to USA, where he has done a great volume of work for the Fantasy theme, having signed artworks for virtually every major publishing house on the lines of fantasy and science fiction. Boris has also illustrated for album covers, video box art and motion picture advertising.
In fantasy and mythology a wizard is someone who practices magic. Oftentimes also called a sorcerer. Many new age theologians talk of a sorcerer as someone who lives of the source. Essentially they are connected to the magic and mysteries of the universe. They tap into universal power. This ability is innate in all but these sorcerers have learned to tap it. Perhaps sorcerers are really no different than you or I but the fantasy writers and artists need to depict them differently to set them apart.
