Pewter Belt Buckle - Championship Rodeo (small)
This pewter and enamel belt buckle has it all, a bronc rider, calf roper and a bull rider. What a great way to show that you are a "Rodeo Champion" with this buckle.
Rodeos first came about as a way for the working cowboy to help polish his skills in areas he would use in everyday life on the ranch against a fellow cowboy in a friendly competition. Overtime as with everything the rodeo evolved into a real competitive sport with timed, roping and rough stock events. In the roping competition you have three events calf roping, team roping and breakaway roping. Timed events consist of barrel racing and steer wrestling, but the event most come out to see is the rough stock competition which has bronc riding in either bareback or saddle bronc and also bull riding where cowboys ride a full grown bull. The rider must stay on the bull till the buzzer which is only 8 seconds but can feel like a life time as you are being whipped wildly about hanging on with one hand. In the event that the rider is thrown from the bull, this happens more times then not rodeo clowns will come into the arena to distract the bull to give the cowboy time to get to safety.
