Dragon Belt Buckle
The Dragon is a supernatural beast. Every known culture has in some way had dragon myths. In most European cultures the dragon is a fearful creature which is an enemy to mankind. However in Eastern culture the dragon is a protector of mankind. His personality is actually playful. While the European dragon breathes fire the Eastern dragon plays with a fireball often called his pearl of wisdom. He can be fierce but his extreme wisdom only allows the fierce side to show when it is beneficial to all.
The Dragon portrayed on this belt buckle is a fantasy dragon. The fantasy dragon ussually portrays aspects from different cultures. For example the European dragon is usually a large bellied dragon with large wings. The Asian dragon is serpentine with and most often times does not have wings. He flies with supernatural powers. However the fantasy dragon will portray some Asian qualities and some European qualities together. This dragon has large wings and a serpentine body. Attributes which would normally be seen in two completely different cultures.
Of course in the fantasy world this is perfectly acceptable. The artist portrays the character in whatever way he feels will bring out a given emotion or will define the character better. There are no rules other than artistic license.
